MILITARY APPRECIATION - May 15, 2013 - General Membership Meeting...
Seventy six members and guests attended the May General Member meeting, held at Mid Pacific Country Club, to honor our military men and women and to Thank them for all that they do to keep our country free and safe. Special attendees included Representative Cynthia Thielen, Colonel Brian Annichiarico, Honoree SGT Justin Dahme, Honoree GySgt Jaerith D. Pel, Honoree ACAN Kari Brooks,
and New Members: Kaleo Schneider (Buzz's Original Steak House - Kailua), Jan Cook (Happiness Hawaii),
Gregory Kim (Convergent Law Group),
Robert Young (Retired), Charles L. Comea (Retired),
Louis Chun (Central Pacific Bank) and Eric Masia (Muumuu Heaven).
In keeping with the Military Appreciation we invited 2 marines from the Wounded Warior project to share with our members what life after deployment can be. Staff Sgt Torres and PFC
Kelly shared their poignant memories of their encounter with war. Connie Oliva, Windward Artists Guild, shared "if I ever complain about anything in my life again..." Many were brought to tears hearing of the struggles these two young men continue to go through everyday of their lives. What's even more impressive is that they would do it all again...SEMPER FI Staff Sgt Torres and PFC Kelly.
