12:30 pm - Military Honorees

LS3 Jinshen Yap, Honoree, US Navy
LS3 Yap, Jin Shen was born in Ipoh, Malaysia.  He is a Logistics Specialist assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 3, currently working at 3rd Marine Logistics Group as a Financial Manager / OPTAR Clerk. He was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class in December of 2013 and earned Fleet Marine Force Enlisted Warfare Qualification this past January. LS3 Yap, Jin Shen has dedicated over 360 off duty volunteer hours to various organizations to include the Hawaiian Civil Air Patrol, Hawaii Christian Baptist Church, Institute of Human Services, Kalaheo High School, Marine Corps Base Hawaii Education Center, Hawaii Make a wish Foundation and the USS Missouri Memorial Museum.

LCpl Vincent Snell, Honoree, US Marine Corps
LCpl Vincent Snell was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia and a military brat to two service members.  He is an Aviation Supply Specialist assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, currently working at Marine Aircraft Group 24 as a Fiscal Clerk. He is a certified HITT and TRX trainer and has given classes on proper form and use of exercises and equipment used for safe training.  He is also a primary Rifleman for the Marine Aircraft Group 24 color guard. LCpl Snell volunteers with the Surfrider Foundation to clean local beaches throughout the island.  He also volunteers with special needs children at the Manewale'a Riding Center which works to provide therapy opportunities for them.

Cpl Thomas Tracy, Honoree, US Marine Corps
Cpl Thomas Tracy is from Wildwood, NJ. He comes from a long line of Marines. His father was in the Corps in the eighties and his brother will be coming in next year.  He has been in Hawaii for almost 2 years now. He is a Corporal in the Avionics Division with HMLA-367 "Scarface". He is also the Tool Control Representative within his work center.  During his free time, Cpl Tracy volunteers with underprivileged youth at the Windward Boys and Girls Club.  He also makes bagged lunches at home and distributes them to the homeless population in downtown Honolulu.

GySgt Timothy Tardif, Speaker, US Marine Corps
Gunnery Sergeant Timothy C. Tardif is from Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Highlands Ranch High School in 2000 and left for recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego where he became a Marine on September 11, 2000.  He then went on to attend the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, CA.  GySgt Tardif has deployed to conduct humanitarian operations in East Timor, Indonesia.  He has also deployed five times to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and one to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom.  Today, GySgt Tardif is assigned to the School Of Infantry-West Detachment, Hawaii as the Scout Sniper School Staff Non Commissioned Officer In Charge.  His personal decorations include the Silver Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, and the Combat Action Ribbon with Gold Star.

Public welcome...$25 per person (Includes buffet lunch 11:30 - 12:00). 

Guests are expected to pay, prior to the event, to confirm the reservation.

If you can't attend send someone to represent you or a friend who might be interested in joining.
